About Bruce's Taxi ServiceA little bit of background
In the early 80’s Bruce moved with his family to Manatee County. His father just retired from the computer industry and thought it would be a good idea to practice law the age of 58. Bruce was in his early twenties and was bouncing from job to job after college.
In 1980 Bruce found a job driving for Dixie Grande Cab. In 1982 the company was taken over by Yellow Cab and the year after Diplomat Cab Co took over. Then in 1985 Diplomat pulled out of Bradenton leaving no cab company in Manatee County.
Bruce’s father suggested Bruce open his own Cab Company with a small inheritance and money he had saved in the spring of 1985. Starting with just two cabs and a dispatcher. The company has grown to 14 cars and employs 40 people in Bradenton, Florida.
Bruce’s Taxi Service is responsible for getting people to the airport on time, getting people to their jobs, transporting patients from their house to the hospital and back safely, business accounts and individual fares. The company also Services the disabled who are unable to drive. For the past 38 years the company we have been servicing all of Manatee County and the surrounding areas.
In Bruce we trust
Even though Bruce is no longer with us, his legacy lives on. The company is run by his Brother, Rob who left a career in the financial markets and coaching tennis.
Rob is supported by many long-time drivers and loyal managers who love both the culture that Bruce created and the Bradenton, Florida area.
